Early Voting Begins September 18 in Frederick County

Frederick County voters can begin casting their ballots for the November 3, 2026 General Election on Friday, September 18.

Early in-person voting will be available at the Frederick County Office of Elections, 343 Sunnyside Plaza Drive, Winchester, VA 22603, through Saturday, October 31. Regular early-voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will also be open Sunday, October 18 and Sunday, October 25, from noon to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, October 24 and Saturday, October 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The deadline to register to vote or update your registration for a regular ballot and the deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail are both October 23, 2026. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, Frederick County polling places will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Voters should report to their assigned precinct on Election Day; the Registrar's Office is not an Election Day polling place.

The 2026 Republican Slate

For Frederick County voters looking for the Republican candidates in this year's election, the federal Republican nominees and the local candidates identified by the Frederick County Republican Committee include:

  • U.S. Senate — Bert Mizusawa

  • U.S. House of Representatives, Virginia's 6th District — Ben Cline

  • Frederick County Board of Supervisors, Chairman At-Large — John Jewell

  • Board of Supervisors, Back Creek District — Al Orndorff

  • Board of Supervisors, Gainesboro District — Jason Aikens

Mizusawa is the Republican candidate for Virginia's U.S. Senate seat, while Cline is the Republican candidate for reelection in Virginia's 6th Congressional District. The Frederick County Republican Committee identifies Orndorff, Aikens, and Jewell as its Republican candidates for the three 2026 Board of Supervisors special elections.

One important point for voters: Virginia does not print political-party designations beside candidates for local offices. That means the ballot will not identify Board of Supervisors candidates as Republicans or Democrats. The Chairman At-Large contest is countywide, while the Back Creek and Gainesboro contests apply to voters in those respective districts.

Before voting, take a moment to confirm your registration and, if voting on Election Day, your assigned polling location. Official Frederick County election information, including early-voting information and polling locations, is available through the Frederick County Office of Elections.
